Syracuse University provides safe, reliable, and free campus shuttle services to faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Not only does Parking and Transportation Services offer schedules for on-campus services, but also services that are available from campus to various points of interest within the City of Syracuse and Onondaga County. Riding the bus on and near campus is free for SU community members. Check the appropriate bus schedule if you have any concerns, show your SU ID card to the bus driver, and find a seat. For maps and SU bus schedules click here or check out the GoCentroBus app in the SU Mobile app. The campus is both walkable and bike friendly. Bike racks are located near or within a short walk of most academic buildings.
Living within walking distance to the campus is the best way to reduce your impact on the environment.
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
The University has entered into agreement with ChargePoint to provide electric vehicle charging for the convenience of the university community. Locations can be found on our interactive campus map and on the ChargePoint map. The stations will be operated through the vendor’s cloud services network and users will need to sign up for a ChargePoint account to use the stations.
Access to stations is subject to all existing parking and lot restrictions. Refer to the parking website and ChargePoint map for lot information. Access to the stations is not guaranteed. Some lots may have periods of restricted access.
Report any station problems or outages through the ChargePoint app or by contacting Sustainability Management.
Pricing
Users will be charged $0.20 per kilowatt hour (kWh). The revenue from the station will be used to offset the utility and station maintenance costs. The pricing may change as operation costs change.
General
Syracuse University encourages all EV charging station users to be courteous of other EV drivers in need of a charge. Drivers should avoid plugging their vehicles in to charge if they do not need the charge. EV vehicles should only occupy an EV spot when they are plugged in and charging. When a charging session is complete, unplug the vehicle, safely stow the cord, and move the vehicle.
