Exterior LED fixtures were installed on South Campus, parking lots on Main Campus, across the Quad and front lawn of Main Campus, and near Flanagan gym. As of 2023, new LED fixtures across campus have reduced emissions by 87 MTCO2e annually. In 2024, exterior LED fixtures were installed on the roof of Bird Library, the Schine Student Center, Falk College, Haven Hall, and Machinery Hall. At the very beginning of 2025, fixtures were replaced on Flint and Day Hall and the Graham Dining Center. New fixtures were also installed on the roof of Watson Hall and outside of Booth and DellPlain Hall.
These projects have resulted in a greater annual reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Sustainability Management plans to continue to replace exterior and some interior fixtures. The next project will be replacing the interior light fixtures on the first floor of Bird Library in the summer of 2025.
