Examples of past internship projects include:

  • Supporting sustainability projects by performing lighting calculations, energy assessments, waste room audits, and emission savings calculations.
  • Creating a student survey to gain insight into student’s knowledge about sustainability and sustainable initiatives on campus.
  • Piloting our peer-to-peer education program.
  • Researching sustainability related topics for Sustainability Management social media accounts.
  • Preparing Pete’s Giving Garden for the spring. Completing extensive research on plants that will be grown.
  • Collaborating with food services to decrease the use of single use plastics and increase the use of compostables. Completing a marketing campaign to encourage dining in as its the more sustainable option.  
  • Managing the South Campus food pantry and working on gaining awareness through digital and print signage.
  • Researching pollinators and their benefit to campus and the environment.
