Syracuse University’s campus operations fall under the responsibility of Campus Facilities Administration & Services. CFAS management has long striven to improve SU’s operating efficiency by various measures; efforts to reduce the University’s greenhouse gas emissions have been incorporated and integrated into this program of continuous improvement.
Several categories
of operational activity in which significant efficiency improvement leading to measurable GHG reduction has been achieved are listed to the left. Of these, the greatest reduction in annual GHG emissions has been achieved in energy (particularly campus heating and cooling), LEED building deployment, recycling and waste reduction, and transportation.
